Xmas 2012 Shopping Ideas

The pressure to BUY this time of year is strong. Instead of giving from obligation, gift with joy. And, when possible, make your purchases be VOTES of what you want more of in the world. Below are some places online where friends of mine are selling the labors of their hearts, minds, and hands.

blurb for fellow huggers

“Our planet is so ready for catalysts of connection. Despite what we hear on the news, the world would rather hug us than hurt us. We are all blessed to have Gail & Daryl traveling the globe as Hug Ambassadors. May their journey ignite a chain reaction of Love.”
-John Halcyon Styn,

Week of humble connections

Sometimes I feel like I publish things into a huge vacuum. And, actually, I slipped into that mindset earlier in the week.
“I don’t promote enough.”
“I don’t work on SEO enough.”
“I don’t get enough views.”

But I found my way back to a peaceful headspace. I reminded myself that I publish because I love to share stories. I enjoy an audience, but it can’t be what motivates me.

Just follow the flow, and let go of the outcome.
From that place, I felt the joy again.

Of course, with perfect cosmic timing, as soon as I let go of the “audience,” I got TWO humbling reminders from the universe:
1) One of my most significant spiritual teachers, Jacob Glass, posted my 4th of July card on his blog.
2) The author of one of my most inspiring spiritual books, Rob Brezsney, linked to me from his newsletter.

Color me tickled pink.

My Good People!

I have recently become a fan of Gary Vaynerchuk.

He does a vlog about wine that my low-class butt never motivated to watch. But I just started watching his 2 minute daily vlogs about gratitude, loving life, working for what you believe in, and other “Be a good person” themes.

They (and he) are fantastic.

Well, he has named today, April 3, “Good People Day.”

So spend the day thinking about all the wonderful people you know. Give them credit. Tell them thanks.

What a wonderful idea!
